Despite the fact that the next book contains through the fall of Rome (my favorite period to teach in World History), I'll not be picking up Gonick's next book. However, by the 1970s, all comic books had been published without having to undergo the inspection of CMAA. And covers almost exclusively the Mediterranean, not even mentioning South America, East Asia, etc.

Not recommended- weed it for outdated approach. I was extremely angry about this, because I hoped to have a comic-format history book I could give my son. It features images drawn in a non-realistic or semi-realistic style.
The 1930s to 1950s saw the rise of popularity of animated films, which led this period to be called as the Golden Age of American Animation. It helped make me a well-rounded little 7-year-old, but more than that, I'm effing positive it shaped my sense of humor. (I found it to be fabulously helpful along these lines with respect to Herodotus. It condenses a lot of information into just a few pages, yet strikes the perfect balance between details and brevity.

Hilarious and informative. These illustrations were originally done on a sturdy piece of paper as a preparatory study or modello for a finished work, such as a painting, tapestry or stained glass. It was useful to learn about different historical events though. It explains the motivations behind human beings' discoveries, inventions, explorations, wars, triumphs, and mistakes. A satirical publication, later known as The Northern Looking Glass, it lampooned the fashions and politics of the times.
