should i wait for ryzen 4000

Posted on October 8th, 2020

Hard to say....who knows when they'll be released and if they'll be markedly better. That's my next build. If you want to play Cyberpunk 2077, which will be very demanding when it comes out, on 120 fps and 4k on Ultra settings, then wait. You'll always get better performance for the same money by waiting a few months. How long can you wait? if you think youd prefer to wait a few months for a 3070 then go ahead and do that, maybe get a 1060/1660 super as a placeholder. But for me it depends on my current rig: are you content with what you're running now? That being said a 3600x isn't going to cause you issues and will pair nicely with the ampere cards. OS Drive: Samsung PM981 1tb (OEM 970 Evo), Backup Storage: Seagate Barracuda Compute 4TB, PSU: Seasonic Prime Ultra Titanium 750W w/ black/white Cablemod extensions I need a final answer on boosting problems using my Ryzen 5 3600.

at this point, there would not be enough of an upgrade to make it worth the move right now. chances are youll still be able to get 200 bucks for it on resale. Currently in the middle of getting parts for my new build, was all set on going with i9-10900k but now I have seen Ryzen 4000 chips are getting revealed at the start of October, do you think it’s wise till wait for the 4950x or 5950x?

Don't get buyer remorse.

If you need the PC now, you should be good with a 3000 series CPU. Should you wait for AMD Ryzen 4000 CPUs - Desktop Guide.

I had already been thinking about that xD. Posted in Graphics Cards, By

I am really bent on two options: Getting the 3900x in 2 months after saving up $750 so I have a 12-core CPU, or wait with this dreaded room heater and endure everyone flexing their Ryzens until the Ryzen 4000 series comes out. Nope. 1 month isn't so long to wait, I'd wait to see what the new CPUs have to offer and for RDNA2 prices/performances to be disclosed in comparison to RTX 3000. I might just wait for the 3000 series. DeathbyE30

It’s going to be very hard going cold-turkey (laptop is capable of very little) but I will reward myself with a nice new rig and hopefully without going through the insanity of launch-days. I've had my eye on a 2070S for a while.

You want to build the PC by February 2021?

if a 3700x + 2070 super would fulfill your performance needs then go ahead and get the build done, theyre not gonna be worse once next gen comes out. But if can wait for it I do not think you will get disappointed.

You've earned that 3080! No one knows. If I'm wrong, do let me know. Anyone is welcome to seek the input of our helpful community as they piece together their desktop.

With all of the talk of Ryzen 4000 and RTX 3000 I have yet again delayed my pc build in the hopes to now have it finished by February next year. I anticipate Zen3 to be competitive if not better than 11th gen, and it comes out soon.

What has happened before, though you can't say for sure now is that for example, when the 2000 series and the 3000 series dropped, you could find good pricing on previous generation CPUs. Either get a 1600’s series card (if you’re going non-RTX) or wait for the 3000’s. JavaScript is disabled.

Both will release this year. + AMD will release Zen3 and RDNA2 at the same time (most likely October) so nvidia might even be forces to cut the prices on 3000 series. The new ryzen won't launch until Q1, very confident you won't see them this year. Share on reddit.

IntelNvidia Quote or tag me so I can see your response. If the answers to those are "no", then waiting for what is only a one generation performance increase wouldn't make sense to me. I wouldn't count on the 4000 series being better, but I would say they will be competitive. Even if the 4000 or 5000 line is released in Oct/Nov they could be selling with hefty premiums for months because of shortages, just like last time. For your reference, I'll be graduating from police academy this December and as such, I'll be upgrading to 3080 (from 1070) and Ryzen 4000 (from i7 4770k) by late December or early January of next year.

2080 super does seem like right choice compared to rtx 2080 ti. This is the place to ask! Small chance for a Nov/Dec I guess. We should know more about Ryzen 4 this month and if the rumours are true it should be available october/november.

i would they are coming before the end of the year, Better wait for Zen 8 and Nvidia's 12000-series just to play it safe IMHO /s.

thatguy20YT. I planned on getting a 3700x but if the new ones are coming out soon is it worth waiting?

Started 14 minutes ago Don't listen to anyone saying a month or two. You're right, it's like "when?". OK I've current got a Ryzen 1400 and since I'm getting the 3080 reference card for water cooling, I realized that it's gonna be a massive bottleneck. It would be like buying a 2080 super a couple weeks ago.

Until when can you wait? Might get anxious and do a Zen 6 + RYX 10000 + DDR6 build.

PiXelit! If you're going to be using the machine for 5 years then grab the 3900x setup...it will age better than the 8700 for sure. Should I Wait For Ryzen 4000 Reddit. /r/buildapc is a community-driven subreddit dedicated to custom PC assembly.

I don’t think a major change will occur until the 5000 series, the 4000 series will just be like the 2000 series but for zen 2.

As for RTX 3000 series...it is worth waiting for if you either: 1) Love ray tracing and want to max it out with ultra settings at higher resolutions; and/or 2) you play games in 4K at high settings with high refresh rates as well. You didn't say what you're primary use is...if it's mostly gaming then wait for sure.

I’d suggest for you to wait for AMD to launch their zen3 if you’d want to save a couple bucks.

I’m almost done planning my first pc and I was wondering if I should wait for the 4th gen Ryzens. I'm coming from an i7 3770 with 12GB 1333 RAM. © 2020 CBS Interactive Inc. All rights reserved. Blue_Incog

Because I heard RTX 2000s was basically a failure and a rip off. @rmpumper: so either just get a ryzen 7 3rd gen or some sort when the 4th gen is out or just get the 4th gen. Started 29 minutes ago

That way if you decide you absolutely must have the newest thing when it's out you could always resell it. @gerygo: to much to change/lot of wasted money to switch to Intel.

I would wait until then. Hmmm good point.

(not sure what they will call it). Press J to jump to the feed. If you always try to wait you'll be waiting forever.

The value of the 2000’s series stuff just isn’t there. The 3000 series doesn't offer anything special over Intel's new series - in fact Intel provides better performance for the same price. I don't see the need to wait for Ryzen 4000, however, if you were on the intel side I do think it makes sense to wait for their 10th gen cpus.

https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/intel-core-i9-10900k-cpu-review#xenforo-comments-3608634, To buy a Ryzen 9 3900x or wait for the Ryzen 7 5800x.

Lunar knight Ryzen 4000 is being announced October 8th.

There are rumours that RTX 3000 will be announced at GTC in March.

If you're doing video work then there's no reason not to jump now as the 3900x is a beast for productivity work and pretty solid at gaming. It's the end of the year, and we're looking back at some of the biggest news stories of 2019 and why they matter. By I don't even plan on upgrading my 8700K for another 2 years for the same reasons, just no benefit at these resolutions and graphically demanding technology. By the time RTX 3000 ships, people will be expecting/waiting for RTX 3000 Super cards that offer more bang/buck. On the other hand, you can bet your ass that a 3600X will give you better FPS/dollar than the brand new 4600X (will be 15-20% faster for ~25% more money), but I would not even consider anything below 3700X if you want to get a 3080.

The APU parts generally lag behind the CPU only parts by 6 months to a year, so we probably won't be seeing Zen 3 based APUs for another year or so yet, at least on the desktop. The thing is we're about half way through to the next gen CPU releases, so it depends on whether you want to upgrade right this moment or not.

It's not like the GPUs that are literally around the corner.
