Thankfully I have a copy of my review someplace else ugh, Whilst not a bad book, by any means, I felt as though the plot for this felt a little outdated and recycled from other powerhouses in the dystopian genre. Let us know what’s wrong with this preview of, Published Read the book. After a little bit longer, I was second-guessing my decision to take the train at all and wondering about my sanity level.

The star rating reflects overall quality. I loved that. Recommended to Lady Gabriella of Awesomeness (SLOW) by: Sometimes I decide that a book isn’t for me based on some silly, almost non-existent reason, and then I stubbornly stick with my decision until something forces me to reconsider. However, when viewing the information for her Match, the picture of another young man Ky Markham, an acquaintance outcast at her school, is flashed across the screen. Satire with a nice bite -- for mature teens.
Then I met Ally. But not so in the Society.
Matched is a romance book. I'll stick to other modes of transportation. She's delighted to learn that it's her bestie, Xander—but it's not all sunshine and roses and happily ever after for these two lovebirds (obviously—otherwise the book would only have one chapter). This one's many, many years in the future, right here in what used to be the good ol' U.S. of A. I pre-read this for my daughter and loved it.
Instead, it encourages readers to think long and hard about their relationships -- to people, to technology, and to authority -- and could lead to some spirited debates about how to best balance personal freedoms and government control. Who you love. Look at all the people! I was very disappointed in this book! Sadly, sometimes yes.

As fans of The Hunger Games know, your enemies always seem to reemerge right when you least expect them. MATCHED invites comparisons to The Giver and Brave New World, and some science fiction fans may rightly complain that it’s derivative.But most teen readers will agree that author Condie has crafted a fine addition to the genre. Will the Society pull her back in, or will she rebel? What do you think might promote or discourage this kind of a future?
sorry not sorry. oh, yes! When she looks at her microcard, a face flashes across the screen—and it's not Xander. Welcome back. I'm getting kind of bored. There are just enough details about the Society to tell the story, making it pretty light as far as sci-fi goes -- so this will appeal to readers who don't consider themselves fans of the genre normally. Its heroine is a model daughter and citizen who begins to suspect the pursuit of perfection comes with too steep a price. . It's mysterious loner Ky, who cannot be Matched due to his low status. Clear message about the cost of blindly following unjust rules -- and the dangers of surrendering personal freedoms to a hyper-controlling government. Your child SHOULD read this. Yeah, we don’t tell you much about who we are and what we do, like ever, but none of y’all have turned into Tin-foil Hats, so just continue on with life, and do as we say. Gripping but bloody dystopian tale will make teens think. As I neared the end of my ride, I was (sort of) getting excited for the final destination, but don't get your hopes up, because it turns out this train ride only ended at a pit stop.
Does a future government like the Society seem plausible to you? I'm getting kind of bored.

The townsfolk are given a special red pill to forget what they just learned, but Cassia only pretends to take hers, instead smashing it in the dirt.

Only catch? The characters annoyed me and the plot just wasn't good. . The Society is at war in the distant Outer Provinces, but in Cassie’s world that’s the stuff of occasional rumor. I really wanted it to be as good as her publisher thinks it is. The novel is a dystopian young adultnovel about a tightly-controlled society in which young people are "matched" with their life partners at the age of 17.
Then the trouble starts. Then Cassia's close friendship with Ky catches the attention of Society Officials—canoodling with someone who's not your match is a big no-no, and Cassia's forbidden from seeing Ky. Maybe I'll check out the dining car." . “Growing apart doesn't change the fact that for a long time we grew side by side; our roots will always be tangled. — When I heard Condie's trilogy was being pushed as the next big thing, I instantly expected this to be cheap, tantalizing but empty, and poorly written. Upon his departure though, she and the rest of the town discover that he's not being sent to a good job, but instead to fight a war against rebels in the Outer Provinces—a death sentence. Ally Condie is a former high school English teacher who lives with her husband, three sons and one daughter outside of Salt Lake City, Utah. (The Unwanted Quests will break you though). The reader wonders until the last page: what will she do?

Luckily she gets the opportunity to do just that. She loves reading, running, eating, and listening to her husband play guitar. For a story with a strong romantic undercurrent, there's not much sexual content other than a few kisses. At her sorting job, Cassia, as one of the best sorters, gets selected for a special task—sorting people. Citizens are poisoned so they’ll die peacefully on their 80th birthdays. It's hard not to be an obedient child in the Society, but Cassie stands out as a good kid: She loves her family, she wants to be a productive worker, she enjoys her friends, and she appreciates her life. When her family is relocated due to her mother's job, Cassia's family requests a temporary work assignment for her in the Outer Provinces, purportedly because she's growing rebellious. Our ratings are based on child development best practices. Amnesia's just the half of it for post-coma teen. Start by marking “Matched (Matched, #1)” as Want to Read: Error rating book.
