Ideally I was looking for something along the lines of a usb Anker battery but the the gold mount batteries will at least already be present at work.
When I looked online, I saw 100 meters? The 802.3x standard should negotiate with the device and only send the current if the connected device uses/needs it. This configuration is only possible when the Ubiquiti device has a secondary Ethernet port which can be activated for PoE Passthrough. Anyone have experience with Juniper Mist. Alternatively, a small standard UPS (the kind with 6-8 power outlets and an internal lead acid battery) would also work paired with the PoE injectors.

Just double check the PoE standards in use, most Ubiquity kit is 802.11at/af now but some older stuff uses their own proprietary format. (and some quick work with a meter will tell you what voltage you're looking for). Data points like Voltage are very vital.

When an POE injector is used there is a connection and data is passed. You don't want a short in the thing you just cobbled together blowing up a lithium cell. I currently use a 3 eero pro mesh setup at my house, with 2 of them wired using MoCA 2.5 adapters, and the third is mesh via wireless.
For others (especially the multi pack UniFi AP), one needs to buy a compatible PoE Injector Separately. You could replace a AC/DC power brick with battery power but as a warning, you're going to be missing out on features that would be available on battery powered products like low voltage cut out. It’s an 8800mAh battery that can supposedly do 48V 0.5A PoE, which is approximately 802.3at. From within the airOS M configuration console, navigate to the Advanced tab, go to Advanced Ethernet Settings and enable PoE Passthrough. There are higher voltage POE injectors designed to compensate for long cable runs.
For the farm Wi-Fi that requires temporary access in remote areas (I’m talking like a training event where people are there during the day but won’t need signal 3 days from now), we use Milwaukee M-18 batteries stepped up to 24 v and a passive injector. Make a backup of your UniFi Controller configuration every time you commit settings changes.

We always put the injector on the rack side, so it is easier to power cycle everything.. Not sure what kind of runtime you would get with that though. Unfortunately it looks like they discontinued the product.
If you're not comfortable building the sort of thing I describe here, consider off the shelf solutions. Ubiquiti committing to this.. May see it in 2025 knowing their record. I hate that the makers of things like this (which appear to be a considerably higher-quality and better thought-out product than the Amazon link below) have been so slow to adopt Lithium batteries. Update: since I first wrote this article, we have upgraded our Ubiquiti Cloud Key to the Cloud Key Gen 2 and our USG to the USG Pro 4.Additionally, we supplemented the aggregator switch in the networking rack with a PoE US‑16‑150W switch for POE devices like the Cloud Key Gen 2 and Unifi AP’s. Not sure if that exists though. The airCube can be powered by and provide power to an airMAX CPE using 24V PoE. Had a problem when installing a new Ubiquiti Edge Switch, wouldn't power up the older WAP until the firmware was updated and the port set to passive 24v. If you don't want an extra power brick, you can use Ubiquiti's inline PoE power adapter to convert from 48V to 24V. Some Ubiquiti products require 24v "passive PoE" that is generally only supported by Ubiquiti or UniFi switches and PoE injectors. I'm not sure how long you'd get if they're getting run down over and over again regularly, but at some point it might be cheaper to look at a higher end battery tech like Li-ion. Some UniFi AP comes with a PoE Injector.

I have 3 UniFi Mesh Access points. From what I'm reading it's either a bad batch of routers or poor firmware. However I use tool batteries for power in these types of situations.
