David Ware, 32, was arrested about 10:45 a.m., but details of how he was found and the circumstances of his arrest were not being immediately released, said Capt. The suspect, identified as David Ware, had fled the scene following the shooting but was arrested shortly before 11 a.m. following a seven-hour search, police confirmed.

David Ware is now in custody after he was tracked down at a home, police in Tulsa say. A second suspect is also in custody.

Johnson and rookie officer Aurash Zarkeshan were shot at about 3:30 a.m. Monday during a traffic stop.

“A scuffle ensued with the suspect, Ware pulled a gun on the officers and fired multiple times,” reads the department’s post.
